Legacy

This is my Mom's side of the family.  In the back are my Uncle Kenny and my Mom.  In the front are my Uncle Bill and my Grandmother and Grandfather.  The really sad thing is only my Uncle Bill and my Mom are still alive. 

My Mom's family had a huge impact on shaping who I am as a person today.  My Grandmother was  the quiet strength of the family.  She did so much for so many people and never asked for anything in return.  She supported us and loved us unconditionally.  Family was very important to my Grandfather and we had tons of parties at his house and the lake cottage with family, extended family and friends.  My Grandfather was always there for us, quietly, or not so quietly, supporting us.  Always.    Funny how you really don't appreciate what people mean to you until they are gone and you fully realize what you've lost.

Oh What Fun!

I have to go to Nebraska in about a week for work and my suitcase is in horrible shape.  So last weekend, I went shopping and purchased a very nice, very large, purple suitcase.  I swear I tried to downsize.  I thought and thought and thought about it and ultimately decided, screw it.  I'm packing what I want to pack.  Commence passing judgement.

Multi Tasking

I leave for work before 6 a.m., so imagine my surprise when I was taking these shots and my phone rang.  Thankfully, it wasn't bad news, it was just my friend calling to check in.  She's an early bird like me, but I wound up having to take the shots with my phone because I'm on a tight schedule in the morning!

All About Those Shoes

I love pretty pretty pretty shoes, but the prettier shoes usually don't come in heel heights I can handle.  When I saw these at Boden, I was so upset that they were over 3 inches in height.  Too high for my old bones and then I noticed the exact shoes in mid heel height!  TOTAL SCORE!  They arrived last night and literally took my breathe away when I opened the box.  Happy shoes make for a happy day!

Gingham Tile Square

I just bought this skirt at Loft and I really like it, but it isn't comfortable to wear all day.  The fabric is very stiff and kind of rubbed me wrong all day long.   Plus, the sweater kept hiking up my arms all day uncovering more of my blouse than I wanted and I looked like a dork. 

The second set of pictures is what I wore today.   Sir Snores-A-Lot was on the couch again, so I had to take my shots in the family room, which is kind of messy at the moment (sorry!)  I really think pink may be my color.  It's not my favorite color, but it's up there on the list!
