Old Lady Print

I've decided I'm going to be a scary old lady wearing super wild printed fabrics.  I'm going to be one of those ladies that wears too much makeup and has teased hair with bright floral blouses and matching loud pants.  I feel it coming.  Not yet, but someday......

Comfy Pants

I bought these pajama like pants at Zara when we were in Chicago a couple of weeks ago and they are the most comfortable pants I own.  They are patterned with little tiny flowers and as I sat in several meetings together, I was piecing together other tops that I can wear with it. Yeah, should have been paying attention to the meetings, but I can multi task.

I'm still not liking my too dark hair, but it's starting to lighten a little bit. I've found we have to start out really dark because the red fades so quickly and then it ends up the right color after a few weeks.  I think this color is closer to my normal hair color, but it's been so long I don't remember exactly what that color it is anymore.  Besides, I can be any color I want to be with just a single hair appointment!

Darkness Descends

I had my hair colored yesterday for my semi annual dye job and it's way too dark.  It makes me look even more vampiric than I normally do.  I know it'll lighten in a couple of weeks, so I'll just have to deal until then.

Speed Racer

I love tipped clothing.  It's probably just me, but I always feel a little more sophisticated when I wear them.   I'm not sure why I felt compelled to attach a brooch to the intersection of the stripes, but I was really pleased with how it turned out.

The Commander

My husband occasionally likes to name my outfits stupid names.  Tonight, he dubbed me "The Commander".  I'm not sure a "Commander" would wear hens on their shirt, but I've always been a little different.

My little baby starts fourth grade tomorrow.  It's a big deal at our school because the pre-k through third grade are in one building in the city next to ours and the 4-8 grades are in a different building in our city.    They also start switching classes this year.  It seems like yesterday we were walking her into her kindergarten class and she walked off without waving goodbye.   I wasn't terribly upset by that because I want Kira to be independent, but I can remember thinking at that time that we were going to be in that building for a very long time and now we're gone and in the next building.  I had the good sense not to think that tonight at orientation because I know the next couple of years are going to fly by (sniff and now I am upset).  While I'm glad school is starting back up, I'm not looking forward to homework fights.  That kid can throw some epic hissies over homework.

Cover Up

It's been a while since I've worn a scoop neck top and I had forgotten that I tend to stay away from them because they really accentuate my chest and I'm not a big fan of flashing that around.  This particular blouse makes me look like I have Barbie boobs and not in a good way.  I wound up covering up with a blazer and I felt much more comfortable with my outfit.
