Copy Cat

I must fess up.  I did not come up with this combination all on my own.  I saw another blogger wearing a similar combination and liked it so much, I thought I'd try it out before it gets cold and I have to put this skirt away for the season.

My hornet situation is not resolved.  Orkin came and sprayed today, but they only took out one of the nests.  Honestly, I'm pretty angry at this point because you can't miss the other nest if you look up and now I have to call them again to get them to come out here and spray the other nest.  The frustrating thing is, these people are supposed to be bug experts and you seriously can't miss the bugs.  There's a lot of them.  Shudder....  I better be hornet free tomorrow or I'll be shopping my extermination services elsewhere.

How Do You Miss This?

These are hornets.  A bazillion hornets.  Living right outside my front door.  Orkin, the exterminator, comes monthly to spray our house for bugs.  Orkin came YESTERDAY and sprayed outside for bugs.  Tell me how on earth they missed this?  For one, they are everywhere and two, it's dangerous.   They'll be getting an earful tomorrow because they are coming back out here to kill these things.  Grrr.

Today, I'm sharing how I modified what I wore to church for the rest of our casual Sunday.  First, this is what I wore to church.

I came home, ditched the shoes, skirt and brooch and threw on my trusty Sperry's.  Ta da!  Sunday errand comfort!

Soccer Mom

Kira had a soccer game this morning, so I dressed really casually for the fields.  I forgot sunscreen and got a little burnt.  Ouch!

Paisley Fun

Today's outfit was based on a) what is cool and comfortable to wear all day, b) what looks ok with my "goose poop" shoes, and c) all components are washable.

Kira had a soccer game right after work and I ran home, let the dog out, ran and got her at daycare and then ran to the fields.  The fields are super icky because they are near a pond and there's a ton of ducks and geese that live there and they traipse across the field like they own the place.  I guess technically they do, but they leave a trail where they've been and they've been everywhere.  It is disgusting, so I wear older shoes I won't feel bad pitching if they are beyond redemption after walking across the field.  I did not wear the goose poop shoes to work.  I changed before the game!

Interesting

One of the most interesting things I've found in having a fashion blog is it's caused me to take a look at what my true style is.  I've personally always defined my style as a bit quirky, but in looking at the outfits I tend to migrate towards, I think it may be a quirky with a bit of preppy thrown in for fun.  Take for instance yesterday's outfit.  I threw this together at the last minute because I wanted comfortable, washable stuff to wear on Sunday because we had a lot of outdoor activities planned and it was really hot.  Khaki and gingham...again, with my ever present Sperrys.  I guess at least I know my style.  By the way, this outfit worked out GREAT for our all day romping outside.  I ditched the jacket, though, cause it really was hot!
