Coral Crush

 

I am a firm believer you can get away with almost any outfit combination at work if you wear it with a navy blazer.  Navy tones down even the weirdest color combinations.  Today's outfit is a perfect example.  The skirt is very fully and twirly and while the shirt is conservative, green with coral is an unusual combination.  Then there's the shoes, which are just out there since they are a cheetah print.  Bring on the navy jacket and suddenly, the outfit looks professional.  All hail navy!

Some Days.....

Today's outfit is a lot more conservative than I normally wear because we had to attend a funeral after church for my sister-in-law's step dad.  He was 91 and lived a happy, full life, but it's still sad.  It's going to be weird not having him at our family celebrations, but he'll be with us in spirit.

Soccer Saturday

Kira has another soccer game this morning. Last Saturday, it was in the eighties during her game.  This Saturday, it's in the fifties.  Brrrrrrrr.

The first outfit was what I wore yesterday for casual Friday.  I'm sporting my new Sperry's for fall! The second outfit is what I'm wearing to the game today.

Don't Get Out Of The Car

I dropped my daughter off at soccer practice this evening and after I parked the car and went to open my door, Kira says,  "Mom, don't get out of the car.  I can walk myself to the fields."  While I should have been offended that she was embarrassed to be seen with me, I was quite amused.  I still got out of the car and watched her walk to the fields...so there.  I'm not sure what her issue was because it's not like I was wearing pajamas and had my hair in curlers.  Oh well.

Unplanned

This isn't what I planned on wearing today, but when I woke up, I didn't feel like wearing what I laid out.  In the interest of saving time, I iron/steam way more than a week's worth of outfits each weekend so all I have to do after work is determine what accessories I want to wear and lay out my undergarments.  I started doing this years ago, early in my accounting career, when I would more than occasionally work 12-14 hour days.  It is such a time saver that it stuck, even though I'm no longer interested in putting in that much time at work unless I really have to.

So this morning, when I decided not to wear what I planned, I pulled this outfit out. About the only thing I had to decide was what belt to wear!

I had to get these pants in one last time before the weather turns.  It's in the nineties here this week, but a cold front is sweeping through on Thursday and it's going to be quite a bit chillier here on Friday.  Brrrr.
