I had assistance taking my photos this morning and my little photographer criticized my poses.  She told me to, "TRY A DIFFERENT POSE", so the above is what we ended up with.  She wasn't happy with the shot, but let it slide.

Soccer Saturday

It is so hard to dress this time of year.  It's cold in the morning, but gets really warm around lunch time.  I wore this outfit to Kira's soccer game with my rain boots because the grass was dewy.  Halfway through the game, I peeled off the sweater, rolled up the sleeves and wished I would have brought my Sperry's to the field.  It got warm and it warmed up quickly.

Corporate Resort Wear

The inspiration for today's outfit came from Pinterest.  Pinterest is the devil.  I get sucked into all sorts of different things when I go out there from outfit ideas, to inspiration on meals for the family, to stupid stuff like trying to figure out what I want our bathroom vanity to look like if we ever find time to redo it.  I even planned Kira's entire birthday party this year using Pinterest ideas.  What did we do before modern technology?  How did we survive???

Accessorize

This is new.  This wasn't on my arm this morning. However, the injury leading up to my new accessory was there.  You see, I have a sleep injury.  Yes, I said a sleep injury.  My wrist, hand and fingers are very swollen and I have no idea how it happened.  I woke up in pain early Sunday morning and noticed later that day that my hand was swollen.  It's gotten increasingly worse, so I went to the doctor today.  It's not broken, but it's injured.  The middle of my wrist appears to be the epicenter.

The disturbing thing, the doctor doesn't know why.   Lot's of money, no answers.  So, I got a brace for support and I'll start some drugs for the swelling tomorrow and I go back in two weeks.    Who gets injured sleeping?????  I'm a magnet for goofy things.

Back At It

I apologize for my lack of postings this weekend.  We did have to put our dog to sleep Friday morning and I've been a bit sad.  I took pictures, but didn't feel like taking the effort to post.   While I'm still sad, it's time to continue forward, so here we go....

Today's outfit was inspired by another blogger.  I'm not sure I'll be repeating the combination, but I really like my new vamp shoes with the skirt.  They look painful, but they are surprising comfortable!  They also zip up the back, so you can cheat with the buckles!! I can't wait to wear them with my fall capris.

The second outfit was what I wore to Kira's soccer game on Saturday.  It screams sideline preppy soccer mom!

The third outfit was what I wore on Friday.  I like the outfit, but it doesn't come across in how I was carrying myself since I was very upset on Friday.  My emotions tend to come through in what I'm wearing and how I'm wearing it.

Anyway, hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Sigh

Today, Dave and I had to make a really tough decision.  Our dog has been steadily going downhill and she's to the point where she can no longer consistently support the weight of her hindquarters.  She's also stopped eating real food and is so emaciated, you can see all the bones in her skeleton.  She's almost sixteen years old and is a border collie and she's lived longer than the average border collie.  We fear she's in pain and she can't continue this way because she's going to wind up breaking a limb, so today, we made the very awful decision to have her euthanized tomorrow morning.  It's tough, but what was even harder was telling Kira tonight what is happening.  Dave and I are going together to do this tomorrow while Kira is at school.  She doesn't want to see it and we respect her decision.  Needless to say, there's sadness in our house tonight.

Coral Crush

 

I am a firm believer you can get away with almost any outfit combination at work if you wear it with a navy blazer.  Navy tones down even the weirdest color combinations.  Today's outfit is a perfect example.  The skirt is very fully and twirly and while the shirt is conservative, green with coral is an unusual combination.  Then there's the shoes, which are just out there since they are a cheetah print.  Bring on the navy jacket and suddenly, the outfit looks professional.  All hail navy!
