How Dumb Can I Be?

 I am a klutz of epic proportions. Really stupid stuff happens to me and I usually wind up getting hurt.  It's kind of embarrassing.

This morning, I was drying my hair with my round brush, my hand slipped and the brush hit the white part of my eye.  OUCH! It hurt really really really really bad and my eye started to water, smeared all my eye makeup and I worried I'd need to go to the doctor.  All day and even now, my eye hurts.  It cut the white part of my eye and if it isn't better by Monday, I'll call the doctor.  Then, I'll have to fess up again about something else stupid that I've done that resulted in needing medical attention.

 See, even in my picture, my eye looks bad.  It's the one on the left.  The squinty looking one.

The Best Present

I got the best present in the world today! When I picked Kira up at daycare afterschool, she looked like this

 

One of her daycare teachers affixed this to her headband.  She's still wearing it, walking around like Hugh Hefner in her bathrobe.  Gotta love it!

Grapes of Wrath

 I am wearing a lot of purple this morning and I didn't sleep well last night thanks to Sir Snores-a-lot.  I wound up sleeping on the couch and I learned something very interesting about  my alarm clock.  If you don't shut it off when it goes off, after a minute, the buzzer starts emitting a loud pulsing noise.  I would have ran to our bedroom to shut it off, but I was kind of like "Take that, Sir Snores-a-lot".  Not mature...don't care. 

As I was walking across the family room this morning after giving Measha her milkbone, I thought "My outfit reminds me of Grapes of Wrath".  Not the book, just the purple and the wrath.  I'm sure it has to do with sleeping on the couch, again thanks to Sir Snores-a-lot and no, I am not over that yet even though it's evening and almost time to go back to bed.

Hummingbirds Love Polka Dots Too!

Betcha didn't know that hummingbirds were attracted to polka dots.  Some thing it is flower nectar and they would be wrong!!!!  At this point, you guys should all be frightened that I am responsible for the upbringing of a small child since I have some pretty craaaazzzy ideas!

I love my vintage hummingbird pins.  I sort of forgot about them until I was accessorizing my outfit last night.  I was so tickled when I found them in my drawer!  How can you possibly have a bad day when you are wearing something so festive?

PPPPlaid Day

 Kira came up with the title of my post today.  I love this blouse.  I've had it forever and thanks to dieting, it fits again.  However, it's a bit low cut, so all day I kept checking to make sure I wasn't providing too much of a view to my co-workers.

Don't Ask Why There Is Candy On The Table

 As I'm working on this post, Kira walks by and nonchalantly says "Don't ask why there is candy on the table."  As a parent, sometimes you have to just go with the flow.  So, I'm not asking.  I'm not sure I would have wondered if she hadn't mentioned it to me, but now I am curious.  My main goal with our table is keeping the dog from eating the gingerbread house Kira made yesterday.  I'm guessing the candy situation isn't related to the house.  But since I can't ask, I guess I will never know.

I'm Gonna Play With My New Friends Zoe and Kira

That's what Dave and I heard while we were watching Kira play with her friend Zoe on the playground this afternoon.  Our city had their annual Christmas celebration this afteroon at the Civic Center and we ran into one of Kira's daycare friends at the party.  They started playing together and some other little kid they met on the play equipment screamed "I'm gonna play with my new friends Zoe and Kira" to his mom.  It was really cute. 

I also got to see the little boy who Kira says has a crush on her today while waiting for Kira's indoor soccer game to start.  The Leibold boys were in a basketball tournament at the same facility Kira plays indoor soccer at and many of Kira's classmates were playing in the game.  Kira doesn't reciprocate his "feelings", but he is cute for an eight year old.  Interesting thing, he did notice Kira on the sidelines and kept looking over at her.  Maybe there is something there??? Ahhhh young love.
