The Principal's Office
On the way home from work/school today, Kira announced that she got called down to the Principal's Office today. I exclaimed "What did you do???" And Kira proceeded to tell me that she didn't do anything, the Principal wanted to personally thank her for a job well done volunteering at school this past Sunday. I asked if she was scared, and she said "YES! I was about to pee my pants!"
It's 64 degrees in southwestern Ohio today, which is nice, but kind of wrong for January. I busted out some new capris that I purchased from Banana Republic with a birthday gift card. I don't own many patterned pants, and this one is subtle with a little fleur de lis all over it. I gotta tell you, they weren't the most comfortable pants to wear all day. The fabric was stiff and the waist band was constricting, even though the pants fit fine. It'll be a while before I wear them again because it's supposed to get cold again on Thursday. Back to winter!
Off to work!

Flouncey
There's no other word for this shirt than flouncey. I am very expressive when I talk and I use my hands a lot, so my sleeves were all over the place today. Kira actually complimented my flounce and grabbed my hand when we got home and said "I really like this mommy." There's no better compliment than that!
The shirt is actually two shirts. The navy blue shirt is from J Crew. The flouncey, polka dot blouse is Ralph Lauren from eBay. I was tickled with how this turned out, but flouncey sleeves due tend to get in the way!
Thanks for reading!

White Pants Black Dog Don't Mix
I am eating breakfast at home this morning because I'm taking my daughter to daycare this morning and our border collie keeps rubbing against my leg in search of any cereal that may have dropped. It's driving me nuts because she's shedding and my were white pants are covered in black dog fur. Yuck. What a way to start the day. She's also staring at me, which is a bit disconcerting at 5:55 a.m. I keep telling her to quit it, but she isn't quite understanding me.
I'm hoping I also don't regret my outfit choice today. It's supposed to be really hot.
