Double Seersucker

I've been dying to wear my seersucker pants with my seersucker shoes and today was the day.  I know it's over the top, but I just don't care.

Last night, I was looking at the blog, "Advanced Style", which features older folks in NYC who have an interesting fashion sense.  Some of the people featured were very sophisticated, but others were quite over the top with their fashion sense.  It was a this point last night that I determined that I will indeed be one of those over the top type of people when I get older.  Heaven help us all.

My Darling Clementine

I was trolling through Pinterest this morning and another blogger posted a picture of this shirt with white shorts and I thought, "How summery!"  and, "I own this shirt."  So I dug it out of my closet and voila! Summery clementines!

Back on the Grid

I apologize for going off the grid this week.  It's vacation time and the family packed up last Saturday and headed to Hershey, PA, Ocean City, MD, and Washington D.C. for a fun filled week of loafing.  We had a blast, but we are all exhausted, I threw my back out from too much walking/standing (Dave is blaming roller coasters) and we're all ready to get back into our routine.  While it was nice to get away, I'm glad we're back.

The first picture in today's post was taken at Hershey Gardens.  If you've never been there, I recommend going because it is absolutely beautiful and peaceful there.

The shot below was taken outside of the White House by a very nice stranger.

More Hershey Gardens.

We designed and made our own chocolate bars at Chocolate World (yes, such a place exists) where they made us wear hair nets.  I'm thinking this is not a look that's going to catch on.

Finally, we made a brief detour to see the Atlantic Ocean. Kira's seen the Pacific Ocean and I though it was important that she sees both coasts.  I took a lot of ribbing from my family on my beach attire, but honestly, I don't own any beach attire because I don't really like sitting in sand and I refuse to swim in anything where I'm unsure what's in the water with me.  This was strictly a see the ocean and continue on our way stop.

Carmel Pale Face

I needed to wear lipstick before taking these pictures.  I am way way way too washed out without it, but I was getting ready to leave and eat cereal in the car since I am that multi talented and I didn't want to deal with it.

I wore this outfit yesterday to my conference and somehow the carmel topping from the cheesecake at lunch wound up all over the back of this blazer.  I didn't even eat the darn cheesecake, but it decided to come home with me anyway.  Grrrrr.

Accounting Trade Show

For the next three days, I'll be driving back and forth to Indianapolis for an accounting trade show.  Yes, we have trade shows and yes they are every bit of what you'd expect an accounting trade show to be like.  You never know who you'll run into at these things, so I decided to dress ultra conservative for the kick off day.  I think this outfit sans pearl cluster would work for an interview as well, but for my work friends who read my blog, I am seriously going to a trade show and not an interview today!!!

Basic Gingham

I have a cold and if one more person asks me if it is allergies, I'm liable to go postal.  I think my cold is making me mean.  I'm not sure why people don't understand people get summer colds, but they do.  I know they mean well, but I feel really really really bad right now and it has turned off my "be nice gene".

Today's outfit was whatever I could throw together that did not require ironing and still would look halfway decent.  This is all I had in me today.

Fade to Blue

I love this skirt, so much so that when I gained a little weight, I went on the hunt for it on ebay.  It took several years before I came across it and it was like the best Christmas ever.  I wound up ditching the belt when I got to work because it was a tad bit too big and I didn't want to dork around with it all day.
