Don't Rain on My Parade

The skies look like this....

I have a flute choir concert this evening, in a gazebo, in a park, outside.  The skies do not bode well for the concert.

Saturday Should Not Be A Work Day...

But I had to go in all morning.  I was the only one there and it was a bit creepy.  I took these shots when I got home.  At least, I was comfortable!

Who'd Of Thought?

I recently bought both the jacket and the shirt on major sale and they came in the mail the same week.  When I laid them out on my bed to put them away, I thought, these two things kind of go together.  The patterns are completely opposing; there's wavy lines on the shirt and the jacket is   gingham, but I think the solid blue frame on the shirt pull the two together.  I never would have come up with this had my "peanut butter not met my chocolate" (old Reese's cup commercial reference - sorry).

Forgotten

I kind of forgot I owned this dress.  It's pretty comfortable with lots of colors in it to appease my matching tendencies.  The only issue with it is it's kind of short, so I have to be careful when I sit or I flash people.  I think some people at work got an eye full a couple of times today!

White Stripes

It is really really hot in Ohio this week, so it was time to bust out the linen. I don't own much linen because the fabric angers me.  You get it all pressed and looking spectacular and then you put it on and two seconds later, it's all rumply.  It's frustrating.  I haven't been able to convince myself to just pull it out of the closet and go because to knowingly wear something wrinkly just seems wrong.  I think that's the accountant coming out....sorry.

Lotsa Dots

I stalked this jacket at J Crew because I really didn't need another polka dot jacket, but I didn't have one in white.  It went on sale and then 30% off the sale and I knew this thing was coming home with me.  You can't tell from the pictures, but the pants have teeny tiny blue polka dots.  I couldn't help but pair the two together today.  Probably not the most "accountant-like" outfit, but the numbers respond better when the number keeper feels festive!

Gingham

I've owned this shirt for years and kind of forgot I had it.  Last night, I decided I was wearing these pants to church and scanned my closet to see what would go with them and landed on this shirt and a vest I've had for years.  The ensemble with the tennis vest looked horrible, so much so, my nine year old fashion consultant told me it looked hideous.  So I chucked the vest, threw on a belt and walked out the door.  Ta da!

Checkers

Bopping through the Gap a couple of weeks ago, I stumbled on these pants.  I noticed they were the skinny cut khakis and they were quite loud in pink checks.  On a whim, I tried them on and bought them.  I've been afraid to wear them thinking they will look ridiculous, but I still liked them.  I tend to experiment a little more with my outfits on the weekend because I can easily change, so I waited until today to wear these.  Boy, was I surprised when I viewed the pictures.  The pants are actually slenderizing and I don't think I look ridiculous at all.  Here I was afraid to wear them and this is honestly one of my more liked outfits recently.  Who would have thought?

Bounce Like a Tigger

I left work early today to meet up with the family at Dave and Buster's and then we went to Sky-zone
which is an entire facility devoted to trampoline bouncing.   Yeah, trampolines.   I have been beside myself excited all week long because I love to bounce!  They had trampoline dodge ball, trampoline foam pits, trampoline basketball nets and then an entire basketball sized spot with multiple little trampolines that you can jump between plus trampoline walls.  I found out tonight that I should not be jumping into foam pits at my age.  At one point, I thought they were going to have to airlift me out of there.  All in all, we had a blast!

My outfit today was chosen for ease of the bounce.  I ditched the sweater, untucked the shirt, and had at!

Yesterday and Today

After the craziness of yesterday, today I'm back to my normal photos.  I decided to try something different today and paired by lifesaver like top with a pale pink jacket.  There's a little bit of pink in the shirt, so I thought it would be a nice contrast.  I like the jacket, but with how pale I am, it tends to wash me out.

This was  yesterday's outfit.  In concept, I like it, but in actuality, not so much.   The blouse is a little short to tuck in, but with the seriousness of the jacket, the blouse probably should have been tucked in.  Oh well.

All Star Animal of the week!!!!!!

Dave and Kira are on vacation this week and I was unfortunately unable to take the week off with them.  When I came home from work tonight, I was greeted at the door by Kira and taken to my computer where Purple (the bear above) and Amber  (the seal below) were sitting on my laptop.

You see, today, while I was at work, there was a little bit of Stuffed Animal Fashion Runway going on in our house.  Kira and Dave faced off, each with rolls of duct tape and both charged with creating a fashionable outfit for a stuffed animal. They then created a runway, choreographed it to music and Amber and Purple strutted their stuff down the runway.  Kira made Purple's outfit;  Dave is responsible for what you see on Amber.

They requested that today's blog be dedicated solely to showing off Amber and Purple and their ever so stylish fashion.

For your viewing pleasure, I give you the fantastic Amber and Purple!

Switch Up

Today, I'm posting yesterday's outfit and today's.  The jacket I wore yesterday is quite old and it's actually a lilac and crème stripe pattern.  The shirt and skirt in the second outfit are also quite old, but fit now (yippee!)  I've been trying to wear more stuff sitting in the back of the closet so I can justify my acquisitions.
