Saturday Rush

Thanks to my snoring husband, I got up at 6 a.m. this morning.  Even though I woke up so early, we were still rushing around to leave the house this morning for Kira's guitar lessons.  She snapped a quick photo of my outfit and off we went.  I snapped a pix of my hubby in the car and he'd kill me if he knew I put it out here!

Off to the Races!!!

I have had this scarf and jacket forever and I just never wear them.  The scarf has an adorable horse print on it, but you can never see it when I fold the scarf.  I almost had the jacket in the Goodwill pile and changed my mind at the last minute and after today, I'm glad I didn't give it away.  My nails are dark dark purple.  Ordinarily, I don't wear this dark of nail polish, but I loved the color so much, I thought I'd make an exception.

I am ready for a more relaxing weekend after last weekend.  All we have on tap is guitar lessons, swimming lessons, church and Chinese school, which for us, is a light weekend!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Gingham and Dots

I am tired today and I'm not sure why.  I got enough sleep, but that didn't seem to help.  I even went and drank an extra Diet Coke this afternoon and that didn't help either.   Maybe tomorrow will be better.

You can't tell from the pictures, but the shirt under the polka dots is electric yellow gingham checked.  It was a festive outfit for a tired day.

Dressing Like An Accountant

Occassionally, I do actually dress like an accountant and today was one of those days.  I've had this outfit ironed and ready to go literally since January, but I haven't wanted to wear it until now.  The only reason why I wore it today was it matched my nailpolish and the other outfits I had prepared for this week don't match my purpley pink Essie Splash of Grenadine polish. Yeah, I have issues.  We're having a casual day for charity tomorrow, so it's off to iron more clothes that match my polish!

It's Electric!

Work has been a little gloomy lately so I decided to liven things up a little bit with a major pop of color.  This yellow skirt is very very neon.  I received several comments as to just how bright my skirt was (I'm not sure everyone meant it in a nice way), but I don't care.  I think I toned it down quite a bit by pairing it with more muted colors on top, but oh well.  Not everyone has the same taste.

Professional Polka Dots

Some days, I think I push the limit on what I should wear to work.  Today was not one of those days.  I think I managed to make a non conservative polka dot dress office appropriate today by pairing it with a very conservative blazer from Banana Republic.  I forgot I had a meeting with members of Senior Management today, so I'm really really glad I went this route.

Snail's Pace

I need quiet.  I need quiet and calm.  After yesterday's mega birthday party (20 screaming 7-8 year olds) and a slumber party at my house last night (the girls stayed up until 12:00 and got up at 7:30), all I want to do is sit on the couch and read.  Quietly.  My husband took my pictures for me today because my daughter was too embarrassed to do it in front of her cousins.  Oh sure, when it's just her and I, she's all over being my photographer.  My husband hates being the photographer, but he does it cause he looovvveees me.  It's either that, or he doesn't want to hear me whine!

If I look a little apprehensive in the photos, the girls were riding scooters and jump roping in front of the camera and I was worried my daughter was going to run me over with the scooter.  She was aiming for me.

Again, I found an outfit to go with my loud neon yellow pants.  I love these things and am constantly amazed at their versatility!  My nieces didn't refuse to go out in public with me this morning, so I think I looked ok! At least I looked ok to 7, 8 and 9 year olds!

The chalk outline is hilarious.  I wasn't outside with them when the chalk came out, so when I walked out this morning, I burst out laughing.  At least noone was harmed in the house overnight, so all is well!

Dippin' Dots

Today's the big day.  Huge birthday party this afternoon and then a mini slumber party!  Kira woke me up at 6:10 this morning because she's so excited.  Now I'm downing caffeine just to keep it together before the party.

I took Kira to her guitar lessons this morning sporting this outfit with a navy blue polka dotted car coat (not pictured).  She was absolutely mortified because I have on so many polka dots today.  Then she looks at her skirt and looks at me and says "I'm wearing polka dots too".  Since I picked out her outfit, I looked back at her and said "Yes, I know".  My husband said the coat pushed it over the top.  I really just don't care!!!!!

I drove out in the pouring rain yesterday after finishing Kira's birthday cake to specifically buy this sweater and shirt (plus a skirt) at Black and White House Market.  They sent a coupon and a catalogue and I knew the sweater would match my neon pants from J Crew.  Yes, I have other stuff that matches the pants, but I needed these.  I want to look nice for the party, but I also need to be in something comfortable because at some point, I'll be out on the gym floor with the kids.

Hope everyone has a spectacular Saturday!!!

Ta Da!

No pictures of my outfit today because quite frankly, I look frightful.  I spent the day making my daughter's birthday cake for her gymnastics party tomorrow.  It took all day and when Kira saw it tonight she said it was "perfect".  It made my day worthwhile!  Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Truly Enjoying the Early Spring

I really hope that winter doesn't come back in April.  I am loving wearing all my capris right now.  My workplace is business casual, so even though I'm an accountant, I can get away with a little more pizzaz in my wardrobe than I'd be able to if I worked in public accounting.  You can't see it in the picture, but my shoes have polka dotted bows on them.

I'm off to continue baking my daughter's birthday cake for her party Saturday.  The thing is massive and is taking forever to bake!

Denim Daze

I bought these pants when I was home recuperating from surgery and sulking over how nothing fit because of the swelling.  I was a little nervous when they came because they are soooo very yellow.  It took almost three months before I was able to wear these (swelling) and I'm getting my mileage out of them.  They are extremely festive.  I remember the neon craze of the '80's quite well and I'm enjoying the more toned down version this go round.

The  polka dot shoes are just fun to wear.  The little bow on them makes them extra special.  A friend pointed out that the dots in my shoe matched my bracelet.  I honestly didn't do that on purpose!
