Hello

Well hi there! It's been a while and I apologize.  I got caught up in life again.   Today's outfits are a few that I wore this week.  The first outfit was not what I wound up wearing all day and because of the horrible climate control in our building, I threw on a bulky sweater so I didn't drive my co-workers crazy complaining all day.  The next outfit was one that almost wasn't to be.  I bought the sweater at J Crew a while back and was on the fence about whether to return it.  One cold morning this week, that decision was taken out of my hands and the sweater is mine to keep!

Tipsy Argyle

I have been having some camera issues this week.  Nothing major, I'm just incompetent!  Sorry about some of the slightly out of focus pix today!

Comfort Clothes

It got chilly this weekend.  Really chilly, so I busted out the thick sweaters and socks.  I'm not quite sure how I'm going to handle below freezing weather because I'm having a terrible time dealing with it being in the fifties.  Hopefully, it's a while before we have to deal with that!

Throwback Thursday

This is from my wedding, almost exactly 20 years ago.  I'm dancing with my father who passed away from cancer last November.  My dad was bigger than life and that smile you see on his face was shared with many throughout his entire lifetime.  I miss him everyday.

Buttons

This jacket was thrifted from an online store called Thredup.  It arrived in perfect condition and then one of the buttons was eaten by the drycleaners.  EATEN.  Since the jacket was thrifted, I had no spare to replace it.  Initially, I wasn't worried about it and Kira and I snipped off another button and headed to the fabric store.  You know what? They had absolutely no buttons the same size as what was on this jacket.  In my head, I thought, "No worries.  I'll just find some online."  Not as easy a task as it should be.  Frustrated, I wound up Googling fabric stores in the Garment District of New York City where after an initial failed attempt, found a store that had several cute replacement options for the buttons on my blazer.  Buttons arrived.  Check. Go to sew them on and notice that I failed to order buttons for the sleeve cuffs.  Dang it.  Ordered more buttons and waited another week for them to arrive.  Then, had to wait an entire month to sew them on because we literally were not home thanks to the fall soccer season.  Finally, I got the stinking buttons sewed on my jacket and wore it to work this week.  It has been an ordeal, but I am pleased with how it turned out.  The original buttons were a charcoal grey with no pizzazz.  The new buttons really snazz it up!  And now I know where to buy buttons!  Thanks Pacific Trimmings!!!

Throwback Thursday

This delightful photo was taken at my third birthday party.  I can distinctly remember telling my mom I wanted blue icing on my cake (and I was insistent) and I even remember how the icing tasted.  From left to right are my uncle, my cousin Tammy, my brother David and me!  Good times!
