Yet Again

Yet again, this is another outfit I purchased a while back and forgot about it.  You'd think I'd just start shopping in my own closet, but that isn't as much fun as going out to buy things.  Honestly, it got too cold to wear this shortly after I bought it and I put it away until warmer weather arrived.

Maizy

Like many things I buy, I purchased this last fall and totally forgot about it until I ran across it last week in my closet.   Some may say I have too many clothes.  Silly people!

We moved into a newly renovated building that was attached to our old building at work this week, which is cool since it is so much nicer than where we were at. The only bad thing is, I now have to wear my ID badge or risk getting locked out of our space.  I hate wearing my ID badge.  It clangs against my jewelry driving me nuts and the necklace I wore today just heightened the problem.  I guess I'll get used to it.  Maybe.

Well Hello

I think it's very important to smile and say hello to people when you walk by even if you have never met the person you are smiling at. It doesn't take that much effort and sometimes it can really help someone who is having a shitty day have just a little less of a bad day.  So smile.  Say hello.  Brighten the world and spread the joy!

This and That

We have logged an incredible amount of sporting related activities over the past several days plus my baby girl turned 11 on Saturday.  First, on Saturday, her birthday spectacular with amazing gifts and lots of love.  Then, out to the freezing cold where she played her first outdoor soccer game of the spring season.  They lost.  Then off to a gymnastics meet where Kira placed first all around, first on bars, first on beam, second on floor and second on vault.  YAY!  Then on Sunday, the child played three soccer games...one outdoor (lost again) and two back to back indoor (won one, tied one).  Then last night, three hours of gymnastics practice AFTER her after school STEM club.  This is the reason why my posts are so sparse.  Today, she had soccer practice and tomorrow night, she has a game outside.  I get to test out my soccer chair tent tomorrow and I'm kind of excited to see how it works.  I'm too old to care if I look like a dork.  If I'm warm, I'll happily fly the dork flag on my tent!  Believe it or not, the child does get really good grades in school despite being so busy with extracurriculars.  If she was bombing out in school, none of this would be happening and I would be posting each and every day!

Shiny Shoes

Spring is in the air and shiny shoes are on my feet!  I love the mirror ball effect of these shoes.  They may not be the most accountant-like in my repertoire, but they sure are fun!

I also have to tell you, the oxford I wore under my sweater today is hands down the most comfortable shirt I own.  It's texture is spandex/cotton and OMG it is so comfortable!  I bought it on sale online at Trade-Mark.

Peaches on the Grid

I forgot I had this jacket.  I've had it quite a while and I'm embarrassed to say, I just cut the tags off today.  I'm not sure why it took me so long to wear;  it just never came together.

I had to take Mr. Kitty back to the vet last night for a checkup.  The vet wound up doing a chest xray and an echocardiogram.  The cat is really messed up.  His heart is enlarged and one of the ventricles has thickened to the point where the blood is backing up into the atrium. This could lead to blood clots, which could kill him.  He also has severe asthma. The vet told me that he is a ticking time bomb and said he could live several years, or he could just pass away in his sleep soon.    She put him on more heart medicine, but we can't treat the asthma because the asthma meds conflict with the heart meds.  It's really sad, but at least he isn't sitting in a cage at the pound waiting to die.

No Coat

In my very exciting life, I went to the grocery store today and I ditched my coat in the car. Yes, it was warm enough this afternoon to not need a coat!  Squeals of joy!  Now if this were October, I'd have a coat, hat, gloves, scarf and boots on because everything is relative, but coming off a long patch of freezing cold, 50 felt like heaven today!  Except I think they turned the air on in church this morning because I wore my coat throughout most of the service.  You can't win them all!

And So It Goes

For the past two weeks, we've been denim casual at work all for a charity.  It's been kind of nice, but I'm actually looking forward to dressing up again.  I've felt sloppy since this all started.  I think I do better when I only have to figure out denim outfits for three days of the week instead of 14.  I'm not good at casual style.

My Tent Came!!!!

My soccer chair tent came today!!!  It's wide enough to fit my soccer chair and it's supposed to keep you about 30 degrees warmer than the outside temperature, keeps the rain off, will keep the wind from bapping me in the face and has a UV protectant top so my vampire pale skin will remain vampire pale!  Kira and I popped it open in the family room and in we climbed!  She has outdoor games starting next week and since it's still stinking cold outside, I am so glad it arrived in time!  Don't judge what I'm wearing.....I'm in my jammies, which is what I throw on when I get home from work!  Not the most attractive, but LOOK AT MY TENT!!

I Take Them

I have been grossly neglectful of my blog lately.  I take the pictures each morning, but by the time I get through running around at night, I'm tired and just sit on the couch reading.  I'm also still in my winter funk and it snowed today, so that won't help.  Spring cannot come soon enough!

Mr. Kitty has started having seizures.  He had one Thursday night and also had one the previous Thursday night.  I decided enough was enough and took him to the vet today (our vet has Sunday hours).  They did a thorough workup on him and took an xray of his chest because he does have some breathing issues.  We  found out he has congestive heart failure, which may be leading to the seizures.  They put him on medication to try to drain some of the water around his heart, but they have no idea at this point what his life expectancy will be.  It will be shortened, that's for sure, but to what degree, only God knows.  At least for whatever time he has left, he will be very loved.
