I'm Giving Winter a Raspberry

Hello, hope all is well in your part of the world.  Here in Ohio, we're cold and buried in snow with more snow forecasted for this weekend. Yay.

To thumb my nose at Jack Frost, I decided to wear this very bright ensemble to work today.  Even though the jacket is bright and the pants are wild, I think my neutral blouse balances it all out.  At least I hope it did!

Bring Back Color

The weather has truly been depressing here lately and my mood has been coming through my clothes.  I've been trending towards actually dressing like an accountant and wearing more neutral, boring colors.  Tonight, we're supposed to get yet another massive snowstorm and I just can't take it anymore, so I busted out the color.  I'm sure this fun sweater does not pass the accountant dress code, but it sure made me feel better!

Called Out

Laverne and Shirley ruined letters as accessories for me since my name starts with an "L".  Anytime I think about wearing a single monogram letter, pins with my first initial or letter necklaces, the big "L" Laverne wore on all her clothes pops through my mind and I can't do it.

My sweatshirt yesterday  needed something and I was drawing a blank with all my necklaces, so I pulled out the one initial piece I own.  It's been over thirty years since that show was popular and I thought surely people have forgotten about the big "L"s on Laverne's clothes.  I was wrong.  Dave walked by, looked at me and said, "Are you channeling Laverne? 

Are you freaking kidding me?  I told him that he was mean and feeding into my letter insecurities.  I still wore the brooch all day, but I was more self conscious. Thanks babe.  Thanks a bunch.

Stupid Shoes

I usually lay out my outfits the night before so that I don't have to think in the morning.  I forgot these pants are long, so I didn't lay out shoes and at the last minute, I just grabbed a pair of heels and left.  BIG.MISTAKE.  These shoes hurt so bad I was almost brought to tears.  I knew there was a reason why I hadn't worn them in a couple of years and now I know.   Needless to say, they are in the give away pile.   Never again pinchy shoes.  Never again.

Negative 8

The clock on my dashboard told me it was negative 8 outside this morning when I was driving to work.   It hurts to breath in this kind of weather and we're all about butt sick of this crap here in Southwestern Ohio.  Normally we have a milder climate than this, but we've been socked in the teeth this winter.  The grass is slightly showing again, which means we'll probably get another stupid snowstorm.  We aren't anywhere close to being done with winter yet.
