The Sale

I bought these pants twice. The first time, I paid full price for them because I'm a sucker for plaid, I used to own a pair like these back in the day and I saw several people wearing them in different ways that made them not look overtly Christmasy.  The first time they arrived, after trying them on, I thought "Can I really wear these, or will they get worn once and then never see the light of day again?"  After a couple of weeks of debating, I finally sent them back.  They were too expensive to be on the fence about.  Then, they popped into the stuff on sale at J Crew.  Next came the 30% off markdown.  And finally, the repurchase.  The second time around, I paid about $110 less than I did the first time around, so I was pleased with the purchase.  They are also super comfortable!

Kira's Favorite Mom

Kira helped with my blog title.  Could you tell??

I love this jacket from J Crew.  I saw it online and really really really wanted it, but I refused to pay full price because full price was just insane.  So, I stalked it. Finally, around Christmas, J Crew had a 30% off if you spent a certain amount sale and I made my move.  Not even 7 days later, the jacket went on sale.  GRRRRR.  I calculated out how much I'd save to rebuy and send it back, and decided the savings weren't worth the effort.  But I was irritated and continued to stalk the website.  THEN, the jacket went on sale for an additional 30% off.  I took action.  I rebought the jacket and then when it came in the mail, I sent back the original jacket (which I had yet to wear).  I saved $50 from my original purchase price, so that was definitely worth the effort. 

This is my attempt at pensive.  I think I failed because I look like I'm being told something I don't want to hear.

For Kira - Butterfly

After my family named by blog post yesterday,  I promised Kira I'd use her idea as my blog title today because it fit my outfit better.  So, for Kira, today is Butterfly Day!

There's a downtown market in Dayton called the Webster Street Market.  It's run by our park district and all sorts of vendors set up on the weekends to sell their wares (inside!)  It's such a fun place to go and I bought this bracelet there a couple of years ago.
