Vacation Day - Off to Ikea!

I'm not good at relaxation.  I never have been.  So, I took my third day off of the year and instead of lounging about, I went to Ikea to shop for an inexpensive floor runner for our foyer.  We've had this really ugly carpet down across the ceramic tile since Kira was a baby as a landing pad in case she fell.  She's nine now...she'll survive and it's time for something pretty!  It still had to be inexpensive because we have a dog, but I found something really pretty that would work and I'm very pleased that it is now gracing the floor of my foyer.  It looks so much nicer in there now!

The Harvest

Ever get dressed and then look in the mirror and realize you aren't feeling the outfit?  That was me today. It was too late to change, so I decided to live with the decision today, but I didn't feel good in my own skin in this and I was also uncomfortable all day.  I tried tucking in the top, but the pants are very low waisted, so that just made things worse.  To top it off, my face started breaking out, so then I felt a little icky from that. I'm wearing polka dots tomorrow.  Everything is better if it has dots on it.

I Hurt in Spots I Didn't Know I Had Muscles

We painted from about 10:30 in the morning until after 4:30 yesterday and still didn't get everything done.  I also managed to spill 3/4 of a gallon of dark brown paint on the driveway...the concrete driveway. Dave was good about it as we sopped up the mess, and ran to the hardware store to buy a solvent to get it up.  We got most of it up, but we still have work to do. Thankfully, it's raining today, so no more painting today.  Next weekend, the nightmare continues.

Here's the brown spot AFTER a lot of solvent.  We still have more work to do, but it's a lot better than when it first happened.
Part of our handiwork.  Stucco is a giant pain to paint.  Amazingly, Dave and I managed to not fight all day.  We have never worked well together on projects because we approach things differently.  I think we both just wanted to get it done, so it took all the fight out of us.
