Uniform

I've come to the conclusion that the preppy button down and khaki pants has become my uniform for work when I'm not sure what else to wear, or if I just want to be completely comfortable all day. 

Kira wanted me to show you her mini ice cream cone.  She's wearing her performance leotard from gymnastics and a penguin hat.  Stylin'.

Happy July 4th!  We were racing to beat the rain taking these pictures and we just made it!  Phew!
I saw my jacket in a Kate Spade add and loved it, but didn't love the price.  They marked it down and then took 25% off the markdown price and I struck.  Kira doesn't like the jacket.  I told her it's a good thing she doesn't have to wear it then because I do like it!  Have a great holiday!

Excluding my bracelet, my entire outfit consists of items that are really really old, but fit now (yay!)  This is why I don't get rid of things often (or, it's my justification).

The Remix

The weather really heated up yesterday afternoon and the outfit I wore in the morning was way too hot for the afternoon.  I didn't feel like completely changing, so I took the jacket off, rolled up the cuffs on my shirt and threw on my new obnoxious shorts from the Gap.  I kept the belt I had on in the morning because honestly, it was already out of the closet already, and voila - my Spring Fling Festival outfit.

Today, it's going to be in the eighties and I actually looked at the weather before getting dressed.  This outfit should make it through the day.  I purchased the capris on major sale at Loft yesterday and they are super comfortable!  Actually, to come clean, the shirt, the jeans and the necklace are all new.   I couldn't pass up the necklace at Talbots because a) it was 30% off and I had a $25 dividend coupon and b)  it has a nautical feel and I think I can pair it with a bunch of stuff in my wardrobe.  There were a couple of other acquisitions at Talbots, but I'll save that discussion for another day.

Another busy Saturday with a morning soccer game, an afternoon guitar lesson and parent's night out at the gym.  In about 20 minutes, I'm getting my hair cut and I can't wait!

Happy Saturday!

 Another busy Saturday.  Lots of errands and we're going to lunch with my family to celebrate my dad's and my niece's birthdays.  Then, I have to do a little work, Kira is going to parent's night out at the gym and Dave and I are probably going grocery shopping.  We're living on the edge here in Ohio today.  By the way, my eye still hurts.  It feels like something is stuck in it and it's giving me a headache.

 The dog is waiting for me to finish so she can get a milkbone.

Polka Dot Day and Cute School Uniforms

After getting ready this morning, I thought, "have I gone over the top?"  Then, I shook it off and thought, nah, nowhere close to over the top.  However, I am bespeckled with polka dots today.  I actually received a lot of compliments on my outfit and bonus...it was comfortable! 

 

How do you make a Catholic school uniform look just plain adorable??? Ask my lovely daughter Kira.  When I picked her up at daycare tonight, she looked so stinking cute, we had to take a picture when we got home.

She's been rockin' this bow combination all week.  It's taken seven years to get the child to wear bows and when I finally gave up, she embraced the bow.

 She is my daughter.  Check out her super snazzy shoes!

So, I get to work every day around 6:30 a.m.  There's hardly anyone there at that hour and I tend to get a lot done before people start to trickle in for the day.  It also gives me the opportunity to take my photos without having to worry about somone seeing it.  Until yesterday......

I thought this was an anomaly, but I was sadly mistaken.  When I went into the bathroom to take my pix yesterday, someone was actually in the bathroom too.  OH NO!! I thought, and I waited her out until she left.  THIS morning, while I was taking my pictures, the same lady came in to use the bathroom.  Back off lady, this is my time!

Frogs in My Meadow

 The inspiration for this outfit came from Ann Taylor's website, but none of the pieces are from there.  I find it immensely satisfying to take pieces I already own and put them together differently to create a whole different look. 

 I love this frog bracelet.  I ordered it from J Crew months ago and it was on backorder.  I just received it last night. Kira thinks it's ugly, but I love it!
