Vintage Flower

Ever wear an outfit and feel like you're rockin' all day long?  That's how I felt in this outfit.  I think it's professional, yet colorful enough to express my non-accountant like personality.

I went through a phase where I purchased all sorts of vintage enamel brooches.  I love how they dress up a blazer, yet are quirky.  I have so many of them and then I forget to wear them.  This blouse is a bit tricky to wear since it's silk, so I sorted through all my pins and came up with this one.  I think it's from the '60's, but it's still in great shape!

I love vintage brooches.  When I found this one on Etsy and discovered the front wheel spins, I had to have it!  Well, another busy weekend is well underway and we're off to Kira's guitar lesson!

On The Fence

I threw this outfit together right before I left on my trip so I wouldn't have to think about what I was wearing when I got back.  I was on the fence about it, but thought, "Oh well, what's done is done."  I was amazed at the compliments I received today. It made me feel good because at least it didn't look as bad as I thought it did!

Back At It

Vacation is over.  Back to stress.  The sad part is, I missed my desk, I missed my stuff, and I missed my job, so at least I know I'm in the right profession.

The only bad thing about going back to work (besides having to get up at 4:50 in the morning) was it was absolutely FREEZING in the office until about 10 this morning.  I literally had on fingerless gloves for a chunk of this morning because it was too cold to type.  Brrrrrr.

Vacation is Over

 Back to work today.  Yippee.  I decided to dress up in honor of going back and here's the result. 

 I received a ton of compliments on my little eyeglass pin today.  I love this pin, but forgot I owned it!

Some days.....

...you should just turn the alarm clock off and go back to bed.  Today was one of those days. On the bright side, my last staff person came back from maternity leave, so now I am fully staffed and I really enjoy working with her, so I'm also glad she's back personally.  On the not so hot side, I felt fine when I got into work, but then I developed a little stomach bug and had to suffer through work all day because we're swamped.  Joy and delight.

Here's to hoping Friday is a better day!

Minnie Mouse

I tend to stay away from red polka dots due to the whole Minnie Mouse effect.  However, when I was in Talbots last month, the store manager knows my tastes really well and brought out this skirt for me to try before it hit the floor.  Must have!  It took me a while to wear it because I kind of forgot about it, but I really do like it!

So, I get to work every day around 6:30 a.m.  There's hardly anyone there at that hour and I tend to get a lot done before people start to trickle in for the day.  It also gives me the opportunity to take my photos without having to worry about somone seeing it.  Until yesterday......

I thought this was an anomaly, but I was sadly mistaken.  When I went into the bathroom to take my pix yesterday, someone was actually in the bathroom too.  OH NO!! I thought, and I waited her out until she left.  THIS morning, while I was taking my pictures, the same lady came in to use the bathroom.  Back off lady, this is my time!

 I love love love this outfit!!! I received numerous compliments on it today and most people thought it was a dress.  It wasn't!  It was two shirts, a skirt and a belt.
