Snow Day

It snowed yesterday.  A lot.  Since I work far away from  home, I packed two briefcases full of stuff Tuesday and logged into work from home yesterday.  Kira was off school, so she spent the day doing homework and I spent the day logged in to work.  I didn't even get dressed until 2 in the afternoon, but in my defense, I started work at 5:30 in the morning and worked a full 8 hours before breaking for the day.  Scary thing with the snow, it's already melting and the whole world is just wet.  Really wet.  We're supposed to have thunderstorms on Monday, so our weather is truly truly whacked out right now.

Thought I'd share my snow day attire.  Attractive, huh?

Windowpane

I am getting an early start on my post today because I have a doctor's appointment this morning and I'm going into work later this morning.  It's weird being in the house when the rest of the family is going through their morning routines.  We live pretty independent lives in the morning and when I'm thrown into their mix, we get into each other's way.  The house is now quiet as all are off to school and work and it's just plain weird.  I'm a creature of habit and it  messes with me when I'm thrown out of my routine. I'm sure I'll be dorked up at work this afternoon too.

Call Me...The Stalker

I am a big fan of colorblocking and green is my favorite color.  When I saw these pants at J Crew, I really REALLY wanted them.  However, I am only willing to pay so much for clothes and these were way out of the level I'm willing to pay for pants.  So, I stalked them.  They sold out of my size and I thought, "Well, that's that."   After more stalking, they showed up on sale and I knew they were mocking me.  Then, the stars aligned, my size popped back in, J Crew marked them down an additional 30% off and voila, the pants are mine.  Ta da!

The belt I wore today is cute, but it's a giant pain in the bottom.  It kind of loops into itself and the end kept escaping from the loop.  By about 10 this morning, the belt wound up in my purse.  Take that belt!  I better go get it out of my purse, or it will travel with me for the next week.

Can't Follow Directions

We received our bonuses at work on Friday and yesterday, I went out and purchased an upgraded telescopic lense for my camera and some lighting boxes since our house is so dark.  I can't for the life of me figure out how to set up the light boxes.  I need my tech savvy husband to sit down with me and figure it out.  Until then, I got three delightful stands, sans lighting elements, sitting in front of Kira's balance beam.  I am inadvertently turning our family room into a photo studio and I stink at taking pictures.  It's kind of amusing.

The dog, the dog, the dog. Always thinking anyone standing is just standing to go get her a milkbone.

It Was Ironed

I ran into a friend of mine at Kira's soccer game this morning and she very nicely complimented what I was wearing and then apologized for what she was wearing.  I felt kind of bad because I don't dress to make other people feel bad.  I honestly just like clothes.  My friend looked extremely comfortable and warm and I envied what she was wearing because of that.  Today's outfit was literally thrown together at the last minute and consists of things that didn't look bad enough to have to iron because I had to go get my car's oil changed this morning and then rush off to her soccer game and I didn't have time to deal with it.

Dave came into the room while I was taking my photos and he bum rushed the camera.  He'd kill me if he knew I shared this with you, but if you bum rush my camera, you get what you deserve!

Seafoam

When I picked Kira up from daycare thits evening, she looked at my outfit and said "I think your blog post tonight should be named "Seafoam"."  So here you go....seafoam.

My shoes are from the Gap and are very cute, but they don't have enough support on the bottom and are kind of hard to walk in because of it. Who would have thought ballet flats would have been my downfall today.  Go figure.
